Hobby Holidays Model Railway Workshops

At Hobby Holidays we offer a relaxing environment in which to learn new skills and develop your existing talents. We employ expert tutors with oodles of patience to help you progress without stress.

We started Hobby Holidays in 2005 to offer workshops primarily in our own hobbies. Since then we have expanded the range of workshops and now sell the products that the experts use, including Plastikard, Evergreen Strips, Brass tube and sections, Humbrol paints, plus our own Master Chassis jig and Hornblocks. We do sell some very unusual items that you won't find in any model shop

We are increasing our range all the time

We also offer high quality accommodation on-site in our 4 comfortable rooms.

Loco & Kit Construction with Phil Atkinson

This is a 2 day practical workshop that covers almost anything to do with kit construction, Soldering, bending, rolling, forming, cutting, etc. Beginners are most welcome, as well as the more experienced. Those wanting to assemble a loco chassis will have use of a Master Chassis with training for the duration of the workshop.

Jan 31st & Feb 1st

CAD for beginners with Phil Atkinson

Speaking from experiance CAD software can be one of the most difficult to understand. Although this workshop is centered around Autocad, other packages are welcome although a manual may be useful. The aim is to get the attendee up to a point where they can do simple 2D etch design. I'm sorry but drawing packages such as corel draw are not suitable as they work in a different way. There will be a second workshop for Corel draw and similar, combined with Autocad for more advanced Etch Design and 3D printing.

Jul 4th & 5th
